Who's Who in TDMM

Most clubs and organisations have a commitee to (help!) organise the running of events and Morris clubs are no exception but their titles may (or may not!) be of interest..

  • The Squire. Our esteemed representative/leader or president, usually the one doing all the talking during a performance.
  • The Bagman. In some Morris clubs, the secretary and treasurer are combined. In Taunton Deane he's the secretary.
  • The Treasurer. See above!
  • The Foreman. He teaches the season's dances during the practice season. This year it is shared between two member.
  • Before you meet some of TDMM's officers, have you considered booking Taunton Deane Morris Men for your event?
  • Maybe we could pay an evening visit to your village on our club night? One village runs a village barbecue whenever we dance there.
  • We don't have to dance outside a pub, a village green or centre can be just as welcoming
  • If you're interested - just send an e-mail to Tim Wingfield our bagman at: tdmm@talk21.com and we will contact you.
  • Bear in mind that the season's events are generally decided at our Programme Meeting in early January so any requests or booking enquiries really need to made before then.
DON CHURCH - Our illustrious leader, displaying that decisive streak usually found in all our Squires. Hmmm!

TIM WINGFIELD - Our new Bagman (Secretary). The one to contact for TDMM information/booking enquiries.

JERRY CHIPCHASE - our very able Treasurer. We don't think he'll look so relaxed after the first twelve months.
ROGER PHIPPS - Our Publicity Officer, staggered that he got the job.
MIKE HIGHFIELD and GRAHAM BARRETT- Joint Foremen (Teachers), amazed that someone's remembered the dances two weeks in a row!
"ALTERUM TRAHE TINTINNABULA PORTAT"
translates (roughly!) into
"PULL THE OTHER LEG IT'S GOT BELLS ON"
